Youth and adolescent homelessness is a pressing issue in Barcelona, especially in these challenging times. The percentage of young people experiencing homelessness is alarmingly high. That's why we've launched the Hands of Hope project, focusing on providing support to homeless youth and adolescents in our city.
Many of these young individuals have faced traumatic experiences that forced them into homelessness, making it incredibly difficult for them to cope with the daily struggles of survival on the streets. Unfortunately, even the shelters they rely on for basic necessities often fall short.
Our mission is to make a difference. Hands of Hope aims to uplift underperforming homeless shelters, ensuring they can provide these vulnerable youth with the essential living necessities they deserve. But we don't stop there. We believe in the power of art and its ability to heal and empower.
Through arts-based trauma-informed programming, we aim to teach homeless youth the invaluable tool of personal resilience. By providing them with a means of expression, healing, and personal growth, we hope to help them overcome the challenges they face and transition out of homelessness.
